Viewing Client Projects, Invoices, and Proposals

Every client has dedicated tabs showing all projects, invoices, proposals, and agreements associated with them. These tabs give you a complete view of your business relationship—what work you’re doing, what’s been proposed, and what’s been invoiced.

Accessing Related Records

From a client’s detail page, click any of these tabs:

  • Projects: All projects for this client
  • Proposals: All proposals sent to this client
  • Agreements: All contracts or agreements with this client
  • Invoices: All invoices sent to this client
  • Recurring Invoices: Any recurring invoice schedules for this client

Each tab shows a filtered view of only the records related to this specific client.

Projects Tab

The Projects tab displays all projects associated with the client. For each project, you typically see:

  • Project name
  • Status (Active, Completed, On Hold, etc.)
  • Start and end dates
  • Any other key project information

What you can do:

  • Click a project to view its full details
  • Create a new project for this client
  • Filter projects by status
  • Sort projects by date or other criteria

Why it matters:
See all work (past, current, and future) you’re doing for the client. This helps you understand the full scope of your relationship and identify opportunities for new projects.

Proposals Tab

The Proposals tab shows all proposals or quotes you’ve created for the client. You’ll see:

  • Proposal title or number
  • Status (Draft, Sent, Accepted, Declined)
  • Value or total amount
  • Date sent or created

What you can do:

  • View proposal details
  • See which proposals were accepted or declined
  • Create a new proposal for this client
  • Filter by proposal status

Why it matters:
Track your conversion rate with this client. Multiple accepted proposals indicate a strong, trusting relationship. Multiple declined proposals might suggest a pricing or fit issue.

Agreements Tab

The Agreements tab displays all contracts and agreements with the client:

  • Agreement name or type
  • Status (Pending, Signed, Expired, Cancelled)
  • Start and end dates
  • Expiry dates for time-limited agreements

What you can do:

  • View agreement details
  • Check signature status
  • Create new agreements
  • See which agreements are expiring soon

Why it matters:
Monitor contract status to know what work is authorized, what needs signatures, and what might need renewal. Expired agreements may need to be renewed before continuing work.

Invoices Tab

The Invoices tab shows all invoices sent to this client:

  • Invoice number
  • Amount
  • Payment status (Outstanding, Paid, Overdue, Partially Paid)
  • Issue date and due date

What you can do:

  • View invoice details
  • Check payment status
  • See outstanding amounts
  • Create new invoices
  • Filter by payment status (outstanding, overdue, paid)

Why it matters:
Track what’s been billed and what’s been paid. Outstanding invoices alert you to follow up on payment. A consistent payment history indicates a reliable client.

Recurring Invoices Tab

The Recurring Invoices tab displays any recurring invoice schedules set up for the client:

  • Schedule name or description
  • Frequency (monthly, quarterly, etc.)
  • Next invoice date
  • Amount
  • Status (Active, Paused, Ended)

What you can do:

  • View recurring invoice details
  • Create new recurring schedules
  • Pause or stop recurring invoices
  • Edit schedules

Why it matters:
Manage ongoing billing for clients with regular, repeated services. Ensure recurring invoices are active and scheduled correctly.

Filtering and Sorting Within Tabs

Most tabs offer filtering and sorting:

Common filters:

  • Status (for projects, proposals, invoices)
  • Date range
  • Payment status (for invoices)

Common sorting:

  • By date (created, sent, due)
  • By amount
  • By status
  • By name or number

Use filters to focus on what needs attention—like overdue invoices or pending proposals.

Creating New Records from Tabs

Each tab typically has a button to create a new record of that type:

  • “New Project” button in Projects tab
  • “New Proposal” button in Proposals tab
  • “New Invoice” button in Invoices tab

When you create from within a tab, the client is automatically pre-selected, just like with Quick Actions.

Understanding the Full Picture

Viewing all these tabs together tells the story of your client relationship:

Active projects + Paid invoices = Healthy relationship
Work is happening and getting paid.

Many proposals + No projects = Potential conversion issue
You’re quoting but not closing deals.

Completed projects + No new proposals = Risk of churn
Past work is done, but nothing new is in the pipeline.

Outstanding invoices + Active projects = Payment attention needed
Work continues but payment is lagging.

Best Practices

Review before client meetings: Check all tabs before calls to have full context on what’s been proposed, what’s active, and what’s unpaid.

Weekly invoice check: Review the Invoices tab for your key clients weekly to catch overdue payments early.

Pipeline new work: After projects complete, check if new proposals should be created.

Agreement renewals: Set reminders to review the Agreements tab for expiring contracts.

Track proposal success: Note which proposals get accepted to understand what offerings resonate with each client.

Common Questions

Can I see records from archived clients?
If you can view an archived client’s page, you’ll be able to see all their related records. However, archived clients don’t appear in searches or lists.

Do these tabs show deleted records?
No. Once a project, invoice, or proposal is deleted, it won’t appear in these tabs.

Can I edit records directly from these tabs?
Usually, you’ll click the record to open its detail page where you can edit. Some lists might offer inline editing for certain fields.

Are these tabs real-time?
Yes. If you create a new invoice, it appears immediately in the Invoices tab. If a payment is received, the status updates right away.

Can I export data from these tabs?
This depends on your export features. Check if there’s an export button within each tab.

Why are some tabs empty?
If you haven’t created any records of that type for the client yet, the tab will be empty with a message prompting you to create the first one.

Relationship at a Glance

Think of these tabs as different lenses on the same relationship:

  • Projects = What work you’re doing
  • Proposals = What you’ve pitched
  • Agreements = What’s been authorized
  • Invoices = What you’ve billed
  • Recurring Invoices = What you bill regularly

Together, they show the complete business relationship from prospect to payment.
